In part five of this 7-part video series on how to wire a switch: from rough-in to finishing, I continue the project and explain the proper method for splicing and pigtailing the hot conductors.
Now that we’ve learned the basics of splicing in part four of the video series, part five deals with the hot conductors, and how to add in the pigtail conductors to facilitate the connection of more than one device in a multi-gang box. Watch for the helpful tips I share about how to put the conductors back into the box and ready for the installation of the devices. I also discuss what step NOT to take at this stage. It might save you some money on bandages!
