Learn how to replace a pool light safely and easily. Step-by-step instruction on how to complete this interesting home electrical wiring project is provided in this informative video.
Background
This past July myself, Sandy and my son Lyle arrived at our winter home in Phoenix for a short visit. Needless to say, it was hot! We immediately gravitated to the pool.
I noticed that one of the pool lights had turned on, then immediately shut off. I realized that the light bulb in the pool light must have burnt out. I also realized that this would make a great ‘teachable moment’, and had my son capture the process of instructing ‘how to replace a pool light’ using our camera.
My apologies for the lesser picture quality (the intro shot is very dark as a result of the intense sun), but the information contained in the video will definitely show you how simple a process replacing a pool light can be. This is one of your more uncommon home electrical wiring projects!
As always – Safety First!! Water and electricity do not mix. Follow all of the home electrical safety practices I recommend in the site (review the safety article before starting any project), and use a voltage tester to ensure the power is off to the circuit you are going to be working on.
